Sometimes we can just say anything so far its a song , a prayer point, a cliche etc without even thinking if its consistent with God's word.
When we say is something scriptural we are not saying whether or not the statement is found in the scripture, rather we are saying is it consistent with the message of the scripture, which is redemption in Christ.
The scripture converge and diverge at/from one point and that is God's plan in redemption through Jesus Christ
Luke 24 vs 27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
44 And he said unto them, Theseare the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Joh 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in thelaw, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
Act 24:14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in thelaw and in the prophets:
Act 28:23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me
1 pet 1 vs 10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
Brothers and sisters anything not consistent with God's plan in redemption through the Grace of Jesus Christ is not scriptural.
With that said we must take a position to understand and interpret all scriptures in the light and on the basis of redemption
